The Story of Us - Part 16
The next day after my interview with my bishop, May 23rd, Josh asked if he could come over after he finished work that night to talk. He didn't get done with work until after 10 that night, and so it was getting close to well after 11 before he made it over to my place. My roommates were all still out and about, or already in bed, so it was just Josh and I out in the living room sitting on the couch. I was a little nervous about what he wanted to talk to me about, but he seemed to be his normal happy self.
We didn't have much time to talk before curfew, so Josh got right to the chase. He told me that he had been doing a lot of thinking the past couple of weeks about what he wanted, and about us. (I honestly don't remember what all he said - I was kind of nervous about where he was going with this). He started to get a little nervous, paused, and then said, "And so I think we should be exclusive." A huge grin split across my face, and all I could get out was, "Ok." And then I just kept smiling - I couldn't get that smile off my face!
I could tell Josh was expecting me to say or do something else, like hug him or something, but all I could do was sit there and smile like an idiot. So he ended up awkwardly patting my back. But I didn't really notice - I was on cloud 9!!
I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!! :D

The best thing about dating Josh, was that there wasn't any pressure in any of it. It felt like the most natural thing in the world. A lot of our day to day routine didn't change much, but for me at least, everything seemed so much better! Now I didn't have to wonder if I was going to see Josh - I knew I would. And I knew he wanted to be with me just as much as I wanted to be with him. And the best part was, all the confusion that had been haunting me for the past few months disappeared. Why had I been resisting this?
Wednesdays became one of our favorite days because I only had one class in the afternoon and Josh didn't have work until the evening, so we could spend the mornings together. And since the weather was finally getting nice enough, we often went out on walks. We could just walk and talk about anything. Talking with him was just so easy. A couple of weeks after we started dating, we decided to go the nature park to have a picnic on a particularly bright and sunny Wednesday morning. We were holding hands and snuggling a lot, but we still hadn't had our first kiss, and I really started to want Josh to kiss me. I had never been kissed before. I had grown up being taught that kisses were something special, not something you just toss around to just anyone. And so to me, kissing wasn't something to be taken lightly - a kiss means something. And I wanted that with Josh.
Anyway, we walked around the park for a little while, and then went to sit in the grass under a couple of trees to eat our lunches. We were laying in the grass and chatting for quite a while, but the longer were there, the more I started to think that he wasn't going to kiss me. But I really wanted him to. I was contemplating kissing him on the cheek to give him a hint, when out of nowhere, Josh leaned over and kissed me! My brain ceased to function completely, and my whole body froze. The first coherent thought that went through my head was, "What do I do with my lips....?" I think Josh could tell I was completely clueless, so he did the only logical thing to do: kiss me again. And again. Annnd maybe one more time. Another huge grin split across my face, and I felt as if I could just float away, I was so happy!!
