The Story of Us
It wouldn't be a proper blog without the classic "how we met" story, and since Josh and I have a bit of an interesting story, this could take a bit, so bear with me.
It all started at the beginning of Winter semester of 2013. I had just turned 22 and was on the home stretch of my college career - only 2 semesters stood between me and my bachelor's of nursing, and I couldn't have been more excited to finally be able to leave Rexburg.
On the very first Sunday of the semester, my roommates and I went to Sunday School (a class where we study from one of the books of scripture, like the Bible or Book of Mormon) at church. An apartment of three guys I didn't recognize was also in the class, but none of them really caught my attention.
(It's funny because even though I didn't think he was that cute at first and couldn't remember what he said his name was, I can still remember exactly where he was sitting (the row to my left and one seat back) and that he had a blue tie on that day.)
When the guys said they were all from Arkansas, one of my roommates, Lani, had a little freakout because she had a lot of family from Arkansas, and so promptly invited all the guys to come over that night to our apartment and play games. (I honestly wasn't terribly thrilled at the idea - I wasn't the biggest fan of men-folk at the moment, but there wasn't much I could say about it).
Later that night, only two of the guys ended up coming over for games, and I was back in my room doing something when they first got there and didn't quite feel the desire to go play games at the moment. So by the time I did venture out, they had all been playing for a while and had gotten to know each other a little bit. One was a taller guy named Josh and another not as tall guy named Todd. And I'm quiet by nature when I first meet people, so I just mainly listened to them talk while we played. (Apparently Josh messed up my name and called me Aurora instead, but I honestly don't remember that happening.)
After playing games, the guys left with an invitation to come back the next Sunday to play games again. Not long after they left, two of my roommates loudly proclaimed that they called "dibs" on the guys, and since neither of them had really caught my attention, I wasn't bothered by it in the slightest.
Stay tuned for part 2!
